Position Highlights

The candidate will possess superior customer service skills, offering support and understanding in dealing with patients, staff, faculty and visitors to the medical center
Be a part of a team dedicated to supporting UW Medicine where Patients Are First
Department Description The UW Medical Center - Northwest Security team has a crucial role in maintaining a positive, caregiving and welcoming environment at the Northwest campus in a manner that is consistent with UW Medicine Patients Are First Service Culture Guidelines. Hospital Security Officers provide assistance and effective problem resolution for patients, staff, and visitors throughout the multiple departments of Northwest, in both patient and non-patient areas.
Primary Job Responsibilities
Provide a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff
Conduct preventive security and safety patrols throughout buildings and campus grounds
Respond to and investigate security incidents
Create clear and timely documentation of incident reports, investigatory interviews, and actions
Assume control of emergency situations in cooperation with medical professionals, fire/police agencies, and/or senior administration
Serve as a member of the Fire Control Team and respond to alarms and other emergent situations
Provide escorts to patients, visitors, or staff 24 hours a day
Minimum Qualifications
High School graduation or equivalent;
possession of a valid driver's license;
no previous felony convictions;
and two years of full-time college in police science or allied field; or two years of police or campus security experience.
or equivalent education/experience except where licensure, certification or similar requirements are legally required.
Compensation, Benefits and Position Details Pay Range Minimum:
$25.81 hourly
Pay Range Maximum:
$37.48 hourly
