Information Systems Analyst I positions coordinate the development, testing, implementation, and modification of complex department information systems utilizing internal and external IT service providers as resources; perform business process analysis and modeling; provide hardware/software technical support to end users in the day-to-day operation of systems; supervise technical support personnel; and perform other duties as assigned.

Eligible benefited employees originally hired on or after July 10, 2021, will be automatically enrolled in the San Diego City Employees Retirement System (SDCERS).

Information Systems Analyst I employees may be required to lift up to 30 pounds and must be able to bend, squat, and crawl on the job.

You must meet the following requirements on the date you apply, unless otherwise indicated.

Education Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education (i.e., minimum completed units = 120 semester/180 quarter).

NOTE:

Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for education lacked on a year-for-year basis. One year of full-time experience = 30 semester/45 quarter college level units.

Experience One year of recent full-time professional level information systems management experience (within the last five years) which must include as a primary job function ALL of the following: Information systems management, systems problem solving, systems design and analysis, and providing technical assistance to others on major computer systems which are run on a variety of platforms.

NOTE:

The following is NOT considered qualifying experience: Systems user or super-user experience; digital trouble shooting; the removal of discrete system components; repair technician experience; and information/data systems experience gained more than five years ago.

License A valid California Class C Driver License may be required at the time of hire.

Highly Desirable

A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Geographic Information Systems and/or technical certification.

Web development and .net development skills.

Experience developing Statements of Work, RFPS, and familiarity with IT contract terms and conditions.

Solid understanding of IT procurement practices.

Experience supporting and/or administering MS SharePoint sites.

Experience using MS Project and MS Visio.

ITIL Foundation training and/or certification.
