Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Senior Principal Cyber Systems Engineer (Level 4) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Test and Evaluation organization. This role is located in Melbourne, FL.
As a Cyber Systems Engineer, you will be part of a team encompassing the full product lifecycle of a software development and test environment using your knowledge of operating system administration, web app design, and security monitoring tools. Key Responsibilities (May Include, But Not Limited To)
Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
Serve as the product owner, planning and prioritizing work within the Agile framework of Planning Increments and Sprints.
Foster a culture of continuous growth and development, both for yourself and your team.
Analyze the total system product to include concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and sustainment.
Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
Basic Qualifications
Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline and 8 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 6 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Ph.D. in a STEM discipline and 4 years of related professional/military experience.
Must have an active DoD Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation) and the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance prior to the commencement of employment.
Must be willing and able to work a flexible work schedule that may include extended shifts, holidays, and weekends and support on call status.
Must possess a current DoD 8570 Level 2 Certification (i.e. Security+ CE or equivalent).
Demonstrated experience managing operating systems and platforms, e.g., Windows Server, desktop environments, Red Hat Linux, VMware, etc.
Demonstrated expertise in PowerShell scripting, Ansible and/or Terraform.
Preferred Qualifications
Profound knowledge of access controls and experience in utilizing tools such as Splunk, Nessus, and Trellix EPO to effectively detect and respond to security incidents; application of Secure Technical Implementation Guides and asset configuration management.
Experience working with DevOps Processes, Physical and/or Cloud Infrastructure.
Systems administration experience, including VMware, vSphere, VDI, ESXi, Red Hat Linux, Windows 11, Windows Server, Dell OS10 and/or Cisco IOS.
Understanding of enterprise-level computing platforms involving virtualization, distribution and high availability.
RHCSA and CCNA Certifications.
Expertise with Dell and Cisco L2 switch configuration and administration.
Experience working in an Agile Framework utilizing agile principles of flexibility, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Experience participating / implementing Agile techniques such as Sprint planning, Kanban and Scrums.
Primary Level Salary Range:
$135,000.00 - $202,600.00. This represents a general guideline; Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses reward individual contributions and allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company‑paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
