The Ethos Children’s Ministry Director teaches elementary age children and leads programming and administration of the children’s ministry at the church. Candidates must enthusiastically love Jesus, children, and families and have a heart for the city. This is a part-time ministry position for 5-10 hours/week, but could be expanded to include other ministry roles in the church, depending on the candidate’s gifts and calling.
Requirements Responsibilities Weekly Sunday Program
Plan and teach weekly elementary (ages 5-12) lesson during the sermon portion of the service.
Review and obtain curriculum that is biblically sound, engaging, and age-appropriate for elementary (ages 5-12) and preschool / infant class (6 weeks - 4) in collaboration with church leadership
Be the “face” of the ministry to parents and guardians of children.
Family Engagement
Build relationships with families, providing support to help them nurture their children's faith at home
Communicate regularly with parents about weekly curriculum and their child's spiritual development
Volunteer Management, Training, and Care
Recruit, organize, remind, and equip volunteers primarily to serve in the nursery / preschool ministry effectively
Expand to train volunteers for serving elementary kids as we grow
Foster a culture of joy and discipleship among volunteer and provide encouragement for them as they serve
Administration and Management
Maintain accurate records, including volunteer schedules and attendance
Ensure the kids' ministry area is welcoming, safe, clean, organized, sufficiently stocked (with volunteer assistance)
Participate in staff meetings, church events, and other activities as required
Participate in teaching annual children’s membership / communicants class
