Minimum Requirements:

A BS/BA degree and minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; 4 minimum years with AS/AA; or an MS/MA; 6 total years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.

Experience in a DevOps or Infrastructure Engineer role deploying and supporting scalable & secure cloud-deployed solutions using Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Experience building solutions using AWS EC2, VPC, RDS, S3, Cloud Formation, Cloud Trail, and other AWS technologies.

Experience writing & maintaining Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.)

Experience in managing identity and access management roles.

Experience developing and maintaining a CI/CD architecture.

U.S. citizenship is required.

A current Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility and the ability to obtain a polygraph

Peraton is seeking a talented Cloud Developer to deliver proven, industry-leading cloud development experience to our law enforcement customer, helping solve their big data challenges.

Location: On-Site; Washington, DC

The Government has trusted Peraton to provide the technical expertise, tools, and resources necessary to bring criminals to justice. In response to this mission-critical challenge, Peraton is seeking a talented Cloud Developer to deliver proven, industry-leading cloud development experience to our law enforcement customer, helping solve their big data challenges.

Role & Responsibilities: In this role, you will provide resources to support the automation of application building, testing, security scanning and remediation, and deployment processes. Responsibilities include:

Cloud Platform Management

Manage and operate cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and their native DevOps tools

Integrate cloud-based infrastructure services such as AWS OpenSearch and EKS

Automation & Scripting

Write and utilize scripting skills (Bash, PowerShell, Python) for automation

Automate configurations of machine images (AWS AMIs, Azure Virtual Machines)

Automate DevOps tasks consistently across three enclaves

Configuration Management & Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

Leverage tools such as Puppet, Chef, or Ansible to automate deployment and maintenance

Implement IaC practices using Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation for scalable, consistent provisioning

Platform Engineering & Tooling

Engineer, maintain, and upgrade developer platforms and tools including GitLab, JFROG Artifactory/Xray, Splunk, Hashicorp Vault, Boundary, Consul, Terraform, Nexus, JIRA, Crucible, Jenkins, SonarQube, Ansible, and Ansible Tower

CI/CD Integration

Configure and integrate COTS products and cloud services into CI/CD pipelines (search, containerization, monitoring, logging, authentication)

Tools include AWS OpenSearch, AWS EKS, Splunk, Microsoft Azure AD, and other cloud-based services

Monitoring & Resilience

Configure monitoring and alerting (CloudWatch or third-party tools) to ensure application health and performance visibility

Implement redundancy, failover, and auto-scaling solutions aligned with resilience requirements

Analysis & Design

Analyze and design DevOps solutions based on user and technical requirements

Document procedures, configurations, and best practices for future scalability and maintenance
