Job Summary Works under minimal supervision with the physicians to perform CT imaging exams, exam protocols, accreditation, operations, and facilitation of equipment maintenance.

Qualifications
Education:
Associate's Degree in Radiologic Sciences or graduate from an AMA‑approved school
Licenses and Certifications:
(ARRT‑CT) Registered Technologist in CT upon hire; licensed by the Texas Medical Board (TMB) as a Medical Radiologic Technologist upon hire; basic life support certification accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) by the first day of employment

Job Duties
Review physician orders for accuracy, diagnosis, and applicability to selected CT protocol; screen patients for contrast allergies, contraindications, and appropriateness that would prohibit or modify the CT exam; communicate with radiologists to discuss stat/urgent findings; modify CT protocol as necessary.
Interview patients (two identifiers), conduct screening, and obtain medical history; explain procedure and instructions; administer oral and IV contrast; monitor patients for adverse reactions; assist the physician as needed; document images and information with patient identification and appropriate labeling; ensure imaging meets radiation safety requirements and ALARA principles.
Perform quality control testing and report problems with the CT system and workstations to the service engineer/biomed, with correspondence sent to the physicist and imaging leadership; maintain QA compliance including ACR requirements (daily, monthly, yearly QC) and participate in accreditation imaging requirements.
Respond to inquiries, calls, and emails in a timely and professional manner; utilize the organizational culture behaviors to include PACT and AIDET; actively participate in codes and rapid responses; communicate shift hand‑off regarding workflow issues; engage in equitable distribution of departmental workloads.
Provide orientation and training for new hires and students, ensuring procedures are performed according to established standards.
Collaborate as part of an interdisciplinary team, communicating effectively with other service lines; prioritize exams and schedule them to ensure smooth workflow, minimize wait times, and address stat requests.
Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, competencies, regulatory compliance, infection control, hospital education, new yearly metrics/department goals, patient satisfaction, and fiscal responsibility with regards to equipment, supplies, scheduling, overtime, etc.; maintain patient confidentiality (HIPAA) and secure processes in all workstations.
