Bloomberg’s Fixed Income Pricing (BVAL) team delivers independent, transparent, and high‑quality evaluated pricing for more than 2.5 million securities across all fixed‑income asset classes. Our data underpins the valuation of retirement accounts, pension funds, investment portfolios, and more.

Description & Requirements The Securitized Products engineering team is responsible for the pricing of 1.8 million Mortgage‑Backed and Asset‑Backed Securities (MBS/ABS). We partner closely with market specialists and quantitative analysts to build pricing models and production systems that power Bloomberg’s fixed‑income workflows globally. As a software engineer on our team, you will contribute to the technical vision, shape the team’s engineering culture, and influence the direction of our pricing platform.
What You’ll Do
Own the full software development lifecycle: requirement gathering, system design, coding, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
Design, build, and optimise scalable, high‑availability distributed systems.
Solve complex engineering problems with a focus on performance, correctness, and long‑term maintainability.
Collaborate with cross‑functional partners—including quantitative analysts and market experts—translating technical ideas clearly to non‑technical audiences and managing expectations effectively.
What We’re Looking For We are seeking strong software engineers who bring solid engineering fundamentals and a passion for both technology and finance, and with more than 4 years of experience in the field.
You’ll Need To Have
4+ years working with an object‑oriented programming language (C/C++, Python, Java, etc.)
A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, similar field of study or equivalent work experience
A robust knowledge of data structures and algorithms along with experience in one or more general purpose programming languages
A strong sense of ownership and the ability to collaborate with multiple teams and partners to drive projects and initiatives.
We’d Love To See
Experience with scalable and high availability distributed systems and event stream processing technology
Experience with concurrent programming
Recent experience with one or more programming languages including but not limited to: C++, Python, Java, Scala
Familiarity with, or a strong curiosity about, financial markets
Experience with CI/CD, testing and developer workflow automation
