20–30% We are seeking an innovative and results-driven Director of E-Commerce to lead the development and optimization of our online sales channel. This strategic role will build and enhance our digital commerce capabilities from the ground up, create seamless omnichannel experiences, and drive measurable online revenue growth. Key Responsibilities

Digital Platform & Merchandising

Develop and execute digital merchandising strategies that complement the in-store experience. Implement and manage an "endless aisle" solution to expand online product availability. Own website user experience, navigation, search functionality, and overall site performance. Omnichannel Experience

Design and launch Buy Online, Pick Up In Store (BOPIS) across all retail locations. Create seamless integration between online and physical retail experiences. Partner with Operations and Store Leadership to ensure smooth fulfillment and pickup processes. Develop strategies to increase in-store traffic through digital touchpoints. Performance, Optimization & Analytics

Lead conversion rate optimization through testing, analysis, and continuous improvement. Establish and monitor KPIs, including conversion rate, average order value, cart abandonment, and customer lifetime value. Implement analytics frameworks to understand customer behavior and guide strategic decisions. Deliver regular reporting to executive leadership. Collaborate with Marketing to evaluate campaign effectiveness and traffic sources. Customer Data & Technology

Lead the selection and implementation of a Customer Data Platform (CDP). Develop customer segmentation strategies for personalized marketing and merchandising. Ensure customer data integration across web, mobile, in-store systems, and customer service channels. Maintain compliance with data privacy regulations and data governance best practices. Team Leadership & Collaboration

Build and manage a high-performing e-commerce team. Partner closely with Marketing on acquisition, promotions, and digital strategies. Collaborate with IT, Operations, Merchandising, and Store Leadership on omnichannel initiatives. Manage external vendors, technology partners, and agencies. Champion digital-first thinking across the organization. Strategic Planning

Develop a multi-year e-commerce roadmap aligned with company growth objectives. Identify and evaluate emerging technologies and trends in retail and agriculture e-commerce. Manage e-commerce budget and recommend investment priorities. Strengthen competitive positioning in the online farm supply marketplace. Required Qualifications

Experience

7+ years of progressive e-commerce experience, ideally in retail or multi-location environments. Proven success launching or scaling an e-commerce business. Experience with omnichannel strategies, including BOPIS implementation. Experience with customer data platforms and marketing technology ecosystems. Background in conversion rate optimization and digital analytics. Technical Skills

Strong understanding of e-commerce platforms and integrations. Proficiency with analytics tools (Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, etc.). Knowledge of UX best practices and site search optimization. Familiarity with ERP and inventory management systems. Understanding of CRM systems and marketing tools. Leadership & Business Skills

Strong project management skills with experience leading cross-functional initiatives. An analytical and data-driven decision-making approach. Excellent communication and influencing skills across all organizational levels. Strategic thinker with strong execution capabilities. Budget management or P&L experience preferred. Preferred Qualifications

Experience in farm supply, agricultural retail, or rural lifestyle industries. Knowledge of B2B and B2C e-commerce models. Marketplace management experience (Amazon, eBay, etc.). Experience with mobile app development or optimization. Familiarity with agricultural products and seasonal buying patterns. Education

Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, E-Commerce, or related field required. MBA or advanced degree preferred. Competencies
