Base pay range
$175,000.00/yr - $200,000.00/yr
Senior Software Engineer (Kotlin) New York - Hybrid
FinTech Scale up
$175,000-$200,000
We’re working with a venture-backed startup funded by top-tier investors like a16z and Salesforce Ventures, focused on transforming how B2B companies manage and collect revenue. Their platform provides finance teams with powerful tools to automate, structure, and evolve the way money flows through their business.
The founding team brings deep experience across fintech, enterprise software, data, and marketplace technologies. We move quickly, operate with high standards, and build with long-term impact in mind. If you want to help define the next generation of financial operations technology, you’ll be in good company here.
The product acts as a flexible engine for pricing, billing, and revenue operations, giving customers full control over how they structure and scale their monetisation models while staying focused on what they do best.
Role Summary We're looking for experienced backend engineers with strong cloud and distributed‑systems backgrounds to help build the core systems that handle our customers’ most revenue‑sensitive data.
You’ll work on mission‑critical infrastructure that must be precise, reliable, and capable of handling massive real‑time event flows. Our platform ingests every usage action that dictates customer charges—meaning the systems you develop will directly influence how businesses collect revenue.
You’ll be joining at a pivotal stage: early enough to shape architecture from the ground up, but with real workloads and real customers to optimise for. You’ll help design and evolve pipelines that process high‑volume event streams, scale for rapid growth, and maintain strict accuracy guarantees.
Have built systems that handle meaningful scale and understand the tradeoffs between performance, latency, and cost.
Have hands‑on experience with pub/sub or event‑driven architectures and understand concepts like delivery guarantees, ordering, partitioning, and backpressure.
Are comfortable with analytical/OLAP databases, columnar storage, and designing efficient query paths.
Own infrastructure end‑to‑end: provisioning cloud resources, using IaC tools, and managing cost/performance considerations in production.
Enjoy writing strongly typed backend code (experience with Kotlin is a plus, but not required).
Like joining teams early—when the big technical decisions haven’t been made yet.
Are energized by changing priorities, evolving product needs, and ambiguous problem spaces.
Care about the customers who depend on the systems you build.
Salary: $175,000–$200,000 + stock options
Early ownership of essential systems that power the business
Meaningful architectural influence over a rapidly growing platform
A team that values thoughtful engineering, deep learning, and craftsmanship
Seniorship level Mid‑Senior level
Employment type Full‑time
