Public Citizen
Public Citizen is a national, non‑partisan, public interest group with over 1 million members and supporters. We focus on holding corporations accountable and are helping lead the charge against President Trump’s authoritarianism. This position reports to Public Citizen’s Co‑Presidents and will work closely with Public Citizen’s Chief of Staff.
General Description The Executive Assistant will play an essential role in the daily operations of the fast‑paced Co‑Presidents office.
Responsibilities
Manage daily administrative and operational tasks and ensure the smooth functioning of the office of the Co‑Presidents
Handle general administrative tasks such as responding to scheduling or logistics emails, managing correspondence, requesting monetary reimbursements, and troubleshooting IT issues with our IT contractors
Coordinate and schedule meetings, appointments, and travel arrangements for the Co‑Presidents
Prepare reports, presentations, and other documents for meetings and presentations
Organize and maintain electronic files, records, and databases, ensuring their accuracy and maintaining confidentiality
Serve as the point person for the office of the Co‑Presidents on administrative and operational requests
Collaborate with Human Resources to assist with employee records, attendance, and vacation schedules
Liaise with external vendors
Conduct research and provide administrative or operational support to various projects, as assigned
Provide significant assistance to other team members as needed, in particular the Chief of Staff on office culture, productivity, operations, and other items
Serve as the key liaison to the Board of Directors for Public Citizen, Inc. and Public Citizen Foundation, Inc, including helping to craft communications, create materials, facilitate board travel, maintain official boards’ records and other duties
Work collaboratively with various individuals in senior leadership to streamline processes and contribute to the overall productivity and efficiency of the office of the Co‑Presidents
Assist with small‑ and large‑scale event planning and logistics
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Background: A commitment to the work of Public Citizen required
Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of commonly used computer applications, including the Microsoft Office suite of applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Work Experience: at least 10 years in administration or operations; previous experience as an Executive Assistant a plus
Skills: Excellent organizational skills; strategic planning; attention to detail; strong written and verbal communication skills
Capabilities
Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi‑task and adapt in a fast‑paced environment
The ability to juggle and prioritize multiple short‑ and long‑term projects
Detail‑oriented and able to maintain accuracy in work
The ability to work collaboratively in a team‑oriented environment with a wide array of personalities at all levels of the organization and have a sense of humor
An ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism

Salary and Benefits
Salary range: $75,000 to $90,000, plus a generous benefit package (not in the bargaining unit)
Medical and dental coverage, including full coverage for children
Three weeks paid vacation for new employees, five personal days, sick leave and more
401(k) plan with a 5% contribution from PC after one year of employment
12 weeks of paid parental leave after one year of employment
Sabbatical after 8 years of employment
