role. The position is located at Doan Hall (0089) and reports to the Administrative Director of the Comprehensive Transplant Center.
Scope of Position
Oversee histocompatibility laboratory compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards, quality assurance, and laboratory processes.
Develop clinical protocols and manage budget preparation, monitoring, and overall laboratory services provided to University Hospital, Ross Heart Hospital, The James Cancer Center, Nationwide Children's Hospital, and Lifeline of Ohio Organ Procurement Organization.
Direct technological staff, work closely with attending physicians and fellows, and maintain customer service and personnel management.
Represent OSU Wexner Medical Center at local, regional, and national levels as a liaison with laboratory and transplant related organizations, agencies, and professional organizations.
Minimum Education and Required Qualifications
Doctorate (Professional)
PhD in Biology or a related field in immunology
Certification as an HLA Histocompatibility Lab director (American Society of Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics, board approved by Health and Human Services)
Clinical Histocompatibility Diplomate status (D-ABHI) conferred by the American Board of Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics
