The SUB AIT program supports the In‑Service Attack Submarines Program Office (PMS 392) under Program Executive Office Attack Submarines (PEO SSN) to achieve optimal submarine operational readiness by providing production support, component repairs and technical support to accomplish repair, maintenance, removal/installation, troubleshooting and associated testing for Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) submarine maintenance availabilities.

The efforts associated with this program will help restore and maintain the material condition and modernization of the fast attack submarines of the United States Navy.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED

Must be a US Citizen

Confidential Security Clearance or higher level required

Personnel shall have at least 2+ years’ experience performing repair work on nuclear submarines within the trade they are being assigned.

Personnel shall have DOW type “final” security clearance (DISCO authority with a minimum of a confidential clearance status).

At a minimum, all personnel shall be United States citizens and shall possess a final favorable adjudicated tier 3 investigation. Contractor personnel must have a Department of War Personnel Security Clearance (PCL) at the confidential level or higher.

Pipefitting Tasks TSD P1 (Non‑Nuclear Pipefitting)

Cut existing and new piping joints

End prep existing and new piping joints

Fit‑up existing and new piping joints

Complete required documents and QA forms

Disassemble mechanical joints

Inspect mechanical joints

Assemble mechanical joints

TSD P3 (Non‑Nuclear Piping System Testing)

Install test gear and test pumps for testing

Inspect piping to certify systems

Troubleshoot and test ship’s components

Communicate safe execution of test

Restore system to normal ship’s condition

Pipefitting Skill Requirements TSD P1 (Non‑Nuclear Pipefitting)

Trained, qualified and have experience with all tasks and components similar to that outlined for TSD P1.

Experience performing SUBSAFE work IAW NAVSEA 0924‑062‑0010 L/R (Submarine Safety Requirements Manual) and hold PNS SUBSAFE qualification.

Steam Plant Cleanliness trained and qualified IAW NAVSEAINST 9210.36F as implemented by Corporate Naval Shipyard Uniform Industrial Process Instruction 5050‑450A.

TSD P3 (Shipboard Testing)

Trained, qualified and have experience with all tasks and components similar to that outlined for TSD P3.

Experience performing SUBSAFE work IAW NAVSEA 0924‑062‑0010 L/R and hold PNS SUBSAFE qualification.

Steam Plant Cleanliness trained and qualified IAW NAVSEAINST 9210.36F as implemented by Corporate Naval Shipyard Uniform Industrial Process Instruction 5050‑450A.

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $39.56 - $53.52. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
