Software Engineer III - Data Ingestion and Onboarding, NG-SIEM (Remote, EST)
Join CrowdStrike as a Software Engineer III focusing on data ingestion at petabyte‑scale for NG‑SIEM. You will build and maintain large‑scale distributed systems ingesting several petabytes of data per day from numerous data sources.
About the Role As a member of the GDI (Getting Data In) group, you will work on ingest pipelines, data enrichment, alerting, and real‑time searches. You will collaborate with front‑end engineers, UX designers, and product managers to deliver high‑quality features, write automated tests, and perform manual testing.
What You’ll Do
Enable petabyte‑scale data ingestion at millions of events per second with sub‑second latencies.
Solve hard distributed‑systems problems (high availability, reliability, performance, cost optimization).
Develop systems in Scala and Go.
Support globally available, multi‑region systems in production.
Lead and participate in cross‑team platform‑level initiatives.
Collaborate with teammates, conduct code reviews, automated testing, agile development, retrospectives, and continuous deployment.
Troubleshoot production issues and refactor internal tools and processes.
Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders.
What You’ll Need
U.S. citizenship or permanent residency and ability to work solely from the U.S.
A master’s degree in Computer Science, IT engineering, or equivalent experience.
Fluency in at least one JVM‑based language.
Proven backend engineering experience (4+ years).
Can‑do attitude, teamwork, and responsibility ownership.
Bonus Points
Experience in Scala and/or Go.
Experience with commercial clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Experience with Kafka.
Strong debugging skills.
Experience developing complex software applications.
Hands‑on experience with large‑scale distributed architecture, scalability, availability, and optimization.
