Senior Systems Programmer (SSP) - Audiovisual Systems Location: Preferred – Washington DC; Hawaii; or Europe (up to 70% travel required) Salary: $110,000 - $130,000 (Full‑Time Salaried) Position Summary: Futron Incorporated is seeking a Senior Systems Programmer (SSP) specializing in audiovisual (AV) technology solutions to support government projects worldwide. The SSP will design, program, and commission secure AV/IT systems ranging from single‑room solutions to enterprise‑level multi‑building environments. This role requires deep expertise in audiovisual programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting, with the ability to deliver reliable, mission‑critical systems in government environments.
Key Responsibilities
Program advanced audiovisual control systems (AMX, Crestron, Extron) with secure automations
Design and implement AV user interfaces, enterprise monitoring, and control systems
Configure, deploy, and tune audio DSPs (Biamp Tesira, QSC Q‑SYS, etc.)
Commission, troubleshoot, and maintain AV/IT hardware and signal transport systems
Provide audiovisual end‑user training, documentation, and quick‑start guides
Conduct site surveys to ensure AV system designs meet space, infrastructure, and user needs
Mentor junior AV programmers and participate in lab testing of innovative AV solutions
Qualifications
10+ years of audiovisual system programming experience
Strong skills in AMX Netlinx and/or Java, DSP configuration, and AVoIP principles
Knowledge of AV standards: Crestron Fusion, Extron RMS, AVIXA, AQAV AV9000
Familiarity with secure system programming for government multi‑domain environments
Ability to read engineering drawings and translate into AV solutions
Strong troubleshooting, organization, and communication skills
Education & Certifications
BS/BA in related field or equivalent experience
Avixa CTS certification (required)
AMX Solutions Master (ASM), Extron (DMC‑E‑4K, DM‑NXV, CNS‑D) preferred
Biamp Tesira & QSC Q‑SYS (Levels 1 & 2) certifications
COMPTIA Security+ (preferred); Network+ and Cisco (CCNA/CCNP) a plus
Additional AV certifications (Crestron, SynAudCon) beneficial
Clearance & Requirements
Active Secret Security Clearance preferred, but not required (eligible for higher clearance a plus)
U.S. Citizen, able to pass a federal background investigation
Preferred location: Washington, DC; Hawaii; or Europe
Up to 50% travel (domestic & international)
Ability to work in both office and construction site environments
