Overview BigBear.ai is seeking a skilled Cloud Engineer to support a federal client’s mission to enhance identity and network-based intelligence capabilities. This position plays a vital role in accelerating the discovery and delivery of actionable insights to counter national security threats.
All applicants must have a security clearance at the TS/SCI level.
What You Will Do
Provide deep technical expertise across a range of cloud technologies, including cloud development, architecture, system engineering, security, DevSecOps, and Agile methodologies.
Lead cross-functional teams on complex projects, developing solutions that impact financial planning, scheduling, tools, and methodologies. Contribute to long- and short-term strategies for application selection, system development, and process optimization.
Serve as a technical liaison, translating customer requirements into actionable engineering solutions.
Act as the primary technical point of contact for cloud engineering, managing stakeholder relationships and ensuring alignment with mission objectives.
Plan, execute, and deliver cloud-based projects that meet or exceed customer expectations
Analyze customer requirements and key performance indicators (KPIs) to guide project execution
Implement and manage development, testing, automation tools, and IT infrastructure in support of secure and scalable cloud environments
Define team structure and coordinate project management activities to ensure successful delivery
Set up and maintain cloud tools and infrastructure, ensuring alignment with DevSecOps best practices
Establish and manage development, testing, release, and support processes within a secure DevSecOps framework
Review, verify, and validate software code to ensure quality and compliance
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, including code bugs and system inefficiencies
Monitor project lifecycle adherence, continuously improving processes to reduce waste and enhance performance
Promote automation and continuous integration wherever possible to streamline operations
Conduct vulnerability assessments and implement security measures to mitigate risk
Manage incidents and perform root cause analysis to ensure system reliability
Facilitate clear communication and coordination across internal teams and external stakeholders
Provide regular progress updates and reporting to both management and customers
What You Need To Have
A bachelor’s degree is required, along with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
Candidates must maintain a TS/SCI clearance
Strong understanding of Cloud Architecture design principles and best practices is essential
Foundational knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS), including core services and deployment models, is necessary
Familiarity with Cloud Computing concepts and environments is also required
What We'd Like You To Have
Certification or formal training in CI/CD tools, preferably GitLab or Jenkins
ITIL Certification is a plus
AWS Certified Developer - Associate or AWS Certified Solutions Architect; equivalent certifications in Azure or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) are also preferred
CompTIA Security+ certification
