Job Summary Reporting to the VP Technical Accounting SEC Reporting and Global SOX Compliance, the Sr. Director oversees consolidation, period end journal entries, general ledger, accounts payable, accruals, fixed assets, foreign entity books of account, internal management report, and more. Designs operational procedures and processes that meet audit standards, improves efficiency, and supports financial analysts. Leads annual audits, quarterly reviews, special projects, and maintains proper documentation. Hires, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure efficient operation.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Direct, manage, and own the entire month, quarter, and year-end closing process
Prepare financials, balance sheet reconciliations, and audits; analyze financial data and resolve variances
Design and implement business processes to ensure efficiency and compliance
Review and approve revenue journal entries and related reconciliations
Handle general accounting and consolidation (GL, prepaids, accruals, cash, fixed assets, key balance sheet reserves, roll‑forwards)
Manage accounts payable reconciliation process
Review consolidated financial statements, perform variance analysis, and investigate differences
Communicate accounting results, explain variances, and discuss impacts with management
Provide training on account reconciliation and drive process improvements
Supervise, hire, train, mentor, and develop team members
Prepare audit schedules and ensure GAAP compliance
Support external reporting (10‑Q, 10‑K) and drive automation of manual processes
Develop policy and procedures, engage external auditors, and participate in SOX project
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
10–15 years of finance and accounting experience
Big‑4 and industry blended experience; CPA required
Knowledge & Skills
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
Effective verbal and written communication
Attention to detail
Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP
Ability to interact with all management levels
Experience analyzing large amounts of financial data
Presentation skills; clear concise communication of financial data
Advanced MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills
Excellent organizational skills
SAP experience required
Working knowledge of Sarbanes‑Oxley (SOX) a plus
Hi‑tech industry experience preferred
Salary Range $230,000 – $262,000, commensurate with location, education, training, experience, and comparison to other employees. Additional compensation may include bonus and equity award programs.
