About The Role The VP, Brand Partnerships - Health & Pharma is a critical executive sales leadership role responsible for driving transformative growth in the Health and Pharma vertical. You will function as one of two senior sales leaders in Health and Pharma, reporting to the SVP of revenue. You will own market strategy and organizational development for the team, while overseeing a list of high‑performing Health & Pharma accounts. The role demands a data‑fluent, inspiring leader who maintains a high‑visibility market presence, actively coaches and empowers the team, and sells a full suite of solutions—including verywell, health, lifestyle brands, on‑and off‑platform media, custom editorial content, and CTV—to achieve outsized revenue and market share growth.

Key Responsibilities

45% - Sales & Revenue Strategy

Leading executive voice in the Health & Pharma advertising marketplace; owning category market positioning and capitalizing on emerging trends.

Co‑developing and executing the team’s annual strategic sales plan focused on key account prioritization for aggressive revenue and market share growth.

Assuming full revenue accountability, providing data‑driven annual and quarterly forecasts and performance insights to the executive team.

Driving innovative multi‑platform solution selling—translating complex client challenges into high‑value holistic advertising programs.

35% - Team Leadership & Development

Recruiting, managing, coaching, and inspiring a high‑performing sales team with structured performance management and continuous coaching.

Acting as executive sponsor for top‑tier client and agency relationships, ensuring deep, multi‑level engagement (C‑suite/EVP level).

Mentoring the team in client advocacy and negotiation, ensuring proposals are insight‑led, financially sound, and aligned with client KPIs.

20% - Organizational & Operational Excellence

Serving as a commercial stakeholder for internal product, marketing, and editorial teams, championing new high‑value scalable solutions specific to Health.

Optimizing the end‑to‑end sales cycle and execution workflow, working with Account Strategy and Measurement teams for best‑in‑class client performance.

Driving internal and external thought leadership, deepening relationships at key agencies, and sharing market intelligence with the executive team.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree Preferred.

15+ years digital media and multi‑platform sales experience, with a proven track record of breaking into and significantly growing enterprise‑level accounts.

5+ years sales management and executive leadership experience, including managing Director or Sr. Director‑level talent.

Specific Knowledge, Skills, Certifications And Abilities

Results‑driven with a consistent record of meeting and exceeding revenue goals.

Superior client management skills with a high degree of integrity and business ethics.

Deep commercial expertise with Health, Pharma, or CPG clients and fluency in compliance challenges within regulated sectors.

Demonstrated success selling complex, high‑margin solutions (custom content, studio services, first‑party data, advanced programmatic/PMP, CTV, experiential activations).

Strategic vision and ability to transition between executive‑level strategy and tactical execution.

Leadership presence, maturity, and impeccable judgment.

Exceptional interpersonal and cross‑functional leadership skills; proven ability to influence product, engineering, and editorial priorities to benefit sales.

Other Requirements

10% approximate travel required.

Compensation Salary: New York, NY – $170,000.00 – $200,000.00. Actual pay may vary and may exceed or fall below the range based on location, experience, and performance.

Other compensation may include annual bonuses, short‑term and long‑term incentives, and a comprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision, unlimited PTO, 401(k) match, paid holidays, parental leave, etc.).
