About the Role The Food Safety Manager will lead the design, implementation, and management of regional food safety policies for all Global McCain facilities. This role drives compliance with food safety laws, champions continuous improvement across manufacturing sites, and provides expert leadership on Preventative Controls, HACCP, 3rd‑party audits, and global regulatory requirements.
You'll partner across regions and with sanitation teams to strengthen food safety programmes, elevate key performance metrics, and ensure alignment to global standards.
The role evaluates facility practices, conducts risk‑based assessments, and drives data‑based improvements to global food safety systems.
What You’ll Be Doing
Champion and strengthen a world‑class food safety culture.
Coach and develop regional teams to build technical food safety capability.
Lead and support global food safety programs, policies, and standards.
Monitor, trend, and report Food Safety KPIs for compliance and effectiveness.
Support foreign material prevention programmes and global mitigation strategies.
Stay ahead of emerging global food safety issues and communicate key insights.
Review and improve programmes such as Environmental Monitoring (EMP).
Serve as SME for detection and mitigation technologies (X‑ray, metal detection).
Provide global support for cook instruction validations and technical problem‑solving.
Lead investigations on major food safety issues and escalating as needed.
Partner cross‑functionally to assess and mitigate risks across the supply chain.
Support certification and maintenance of GFSI standards.
Facilitate global alignment through monthly connects with regional FSQ leaders.
What You’ll Need to Be Successful
Experience leading food safety across a global or multi‑site manufacturing environment.
Strong technical expertise in food safety, risk assessment, auditing, and data analysis.
Ability to make balanced, data‑driven decisions in complex environments.
Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and organisational skills.
In‑depth knowledge of global food safety regulations (US, Canada, EU, Asia, etc.).
Bachelor’s or Master’s in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, or a related field.
8+ years of food safety experience with demonstrated leadership capability.
Proficiency in HACCP, FSMA, PCQI, GFSI, and experience with major regulatory bodies (FDA, CFIA, etc.).
Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, hygienic design, sanitation, and continuous improvement.

Compensation & Benefits Compensation: $97,500.00 – $130,000.00 USD annually + bonus eligibility.
