AWS Software Engineer Cloud Consultant

Summary Vertical Relevance is looking for an AWS Cloud Consultant to join our team as a full‑time remote employee. This role is responsible for the end‑to‑end planning, building, and deploying of software systems and will drive the programming of well‑constructed, testable code.

Responsibilities

Help customers shape their journey to adopting the cloud and provide technical and strategic guidance.

Consult, plan, design, and implement cloud native application solutions.

Review existing customer application full‑stack architectures and propose iterations to move toward cloud native architecture.

Code, test, and deploy refinements in customer applications.

Build and deploy infrastructure and automate operations for customers.

Become a deep technical resource that earns customer trust.

Develop high‑quality technical content such as automation tools, reference architectures, and white papers.

Innovate on behalf of customers and translate thoughts into action yielding measurable results.

Support solution development by conveying customer needs and feedback as input to technology roadmaps.

Assist with technical briefs that document solutions.

Assist with reference architecture implementations.

Support internal and external brand development through thought leadership.

Work with Marketing/Alliances to write blog posts and develop internal case studies.

Qualifications

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts.

5+ years applied experience and hands‑on experience with Java, J2EE, Spring/Spring Boot, AWS services (ECS, EKS, S3, SQS, Lambda, EventBridge, SNS).

Strong familiarity with micro‑service designs and proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.

Deep technical knowledge of utilizing frameworks to deliver applications and being able to dive deep into code implementations.

AWS Developer or Architect Certifications.

Java development experience.

In‑depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems.

Proficiency in databases such as Oracle and Cassandra (other NoSQL databases).

Expertise in monitoring tools like Splunk, Grafana and creating dashboards and alerts.

Hands‑on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.

Advanced understanding of agile methodologies.

Proficient in implementing Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment practices.

Skilled in designing and developing applications with robust resiliency features.

Proficient in integrating security measures within the software development lifecycle.

Experience with distributed streaming platform (Kafka).

Professional experience architecting/operating full‑stack business/consumer/corporate web and mobile applications built on AWS.

Core: Terraform, CloudFormation, Azure DevOps/TFS, EC2, Lambda, S3, AWS networking, .NET, IIS, MS SQL Server, Java, Apache Tomcat, SNS, Secrets Manager, CloudWatch.

You must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship.

Assist customers with architectural reviews and migrations to AWS.

Identify prospects for cloud native services to enable cost efficiency, security, performance, resiliency.

Review monitoring and operational processes and recommend improvements.

Decompose large monoliths into smaller decoupled implementations and adopt DevOps practices.

Deliver code and configuration changes to adopt approved designs.

Implement automated testing capabilities.

Adopt recommended DevOps practices on AWS to improve efficiency.
