Overview POWER Engineers, Member of WSP, is initiating a search for a Distribution Project Engineer for the Atlanta, GA office. The role involves projects with the Distribution Services Team, providing technical assistance and guidance across the design, development, and construction of utility, industrial, and commercial scale projects.

Identifying and communicating the need for work scope variances
Managing supporting documentation per POWER’s record retention policy
Assisting PM in evaluating resource needs for specific design activities
Participating in interviews
Providing feedback on engineers/designers
Exercise responsible and ethical decision‑making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct in accordance with WSP’s Code of Conduct
Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
3 to 5 years of post‑education experience designing power transmission and distribution systems in utility or industrial/commercial environments.
Engineer in Training Certification.
Knowledge of electrical engineering principles, practices, design/build, permitting and project work‑related issues.
Experience with infrastructure planning, design, and construction management, including rehabilitation and new design.
Ability to coordinate with agency regulators and understand requirements.
Knowledge of relevant engineering and electrical construction laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record‑keeping requirements.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with engineering and non‑engineering audiences.
Self‑leadership, attention to detail, results orientation, and managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, follow instruction, work independently, and comply with company policies.
Moderate proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, technology, math principles, predictive models, spreadsheets, and tools.
Critical thinking and problem‑solving skills to apply technical knowledge and analyze data to reach effective, economical solutions.
Familiarity with distribution design software (both overhead and underground), GO 128, and ability to uphold workplace safety.
Ability to work schedules that may extend beyond the typical workweek and occasional travel as required.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (extra credit).
P.E. license preferred.
Prior experience in the utility field.
