Director at Manning Personnel Group, Inc. We are partnering with a phenomenal Financial Institution currently targeting a Staff Accountant to join their Accounting and Finance Department. Ideal candidate should have 1-2 years of accounting experience and a Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting. The role is 5 days onsite, with option for hybrid work down the line.
Responsibilities
Review, analyze, and process moderately complex financial transactions in line with GAAP, raising concerns or irregularities to a supervisor when appropriate.
Reconcile various general ledger accounts and ensure outstanding items are cleared within an appropriate timeframe (generally within 30 days unless otherwise justified).
Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger.
Handle accounts payable duties and maintain related documentation.
Process and reconcile fixed‑asset and prepaid accounts, including analyzing month‑end depreciation for accuracy and reasonableness.
Assist with tax filings and regulatory reporting requirements.
Support the processing and reconciliation of investment‑related activity.
Prepare disbursements, maintain financial records, and generate reports for the organization’s charitable or community‑focused fund.
Perform responsibilities in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and regulatory standards relevant to financial institutions.
Assist with cost‑accounting functions for internal operations.
Help manage record storage and retrieval processes for the department.
Share responsibility for the daily reconciliation of the institution’s Federal Reserve account, escalating unresolved issues as needed.
Work effectively under tight deadlines in a fast‑paced environment with multiple competing priorities.
Support preparation of information needed for pledging collateral with the Federal Reserve or other applicable lending institutions.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field — or comparable professional experience.
Solid understanding of accounting systems with the ability to learn new platforms.
Strong written and verbal communication capabilities.
Intermediate‑to‑advanced Excel proficiency and solid knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong analytical thinking and problem‑solving ability.
