Volunteer Board Treasurer – Indigenous Roots Productions (IRP)
The Treasurer is a voting member of the Board responsible for IRP’s financial oversight and compliance. This is a working volunteer role requiring consistent engagement.
Indigenous Roots Productions (IRP) was founded with a visionary mission to preserve and amplify the rich cultural heritage of indigenous communities through the transformative power of filmmaking and music production. Born out of a profound passion for indigenous preservation, IRP emerged as a beacon of hope and empowerment for communities whose stories have often been marginalized or overlooked. The journey began with the dedication and commitment of founder Samuel Tamo, whose personal financial and professional investments demonstrate an unwavering commitment to the grassroots nature of IRP.
Core Responsibilities (Monthly–Quarterly Duties)
Maintain and update IRP’s financial records, including income tracking and expense logs
Prepare quarterly financial reports for board meetings
Support the annual budget, financial review, and reporting requirements
Assist with identifying funding opportunities and preparing basic financial documentation for grants
Ensure adherence to nonprofit accounting standards and ethical financial practices
Time Commitment
3–5 hours per month, including one quarterly board meeting
Additional coordination during budgeting or grant cycles
Qualifications
Experience with budgeting, bookkeeping, accounting, or nonprofit financial management preferred
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Commitment to IRP’s mission and values of Indigenous sovereignty, ethical research, and community-centered storytelling
