SUD Peer Support Specialist *Full Time Day*
Join Providence Health & Services as a full‑time day SUD Peer Support Specialist. The Peer Support Specialist will be an essential part of the Behavioral Health Team, providing telephonic and in‑person support and assisting patients who have recently discharged from the hospital with connections to outpatient behavioral health, substance use, and other community services.
Required Qualifications
THW Certification in Oregon as a peer in one of the following: PSS—Peer Support Specialist, Adult Mental Health, Adult Addiction, Family Support, Youth Support; PWS—Peer Wellness Specialist, Adult Mental Health, Adult Addiction, Family Support, Youth Support (within 30 days of hire).
Driving may be necessary; proof of driver license and auto insurance required.
Compliance with state regulations: potential DHS criminal background check.
Recovery Mentor Certification upon hire (SUD Peer Support Specialist only).
AHA Basic Life Support for Health Care Provider within 30 days of hire.
1 year of peer support services experience.
1 year of experience working with individuals with substance use disorders (SUD Peer Support Specialist only).
Preferred Qualifications
CADC I (Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor) within 60 days of hire (SUD Peer Support Specialist only).
Experience working with patients experiencing chronic, acute and contingent crisis.
