Principal Urologist (Section Chief)

We are seeking an experienced board‑certified Urologist to provide exemplary care to our veterans. We offer a diverse, team‑oriented career path focused on making a real difference with competitive salaries and benefits. Duties
Reports directly to the ACOS of surgery and delivers clinical/surgical care throughout the medical center while meeting compliance standards. Provides guidance to interns, residents/fellows, medical students, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners, and is eligible for clinical appointment at Wake Forest University. Delivers patient care that is compassionate, appropriate, and effective for health promotion, disease prevention, treatment, and end‑of‑life care, and provides training and direction to support staff. Chairs the clinic or operating room 5 days per week with 20% administrative time. Supervises an average of eight direct reports and two residents. Requirements
U.S. citizenship required; non‑citizens only considered when qualified citizens unavailable. Doctor of Medicine (MD) or equivalent allopathic/osteopathic degree. Unrestricted medical license in a U.S. state, territory, commonwealth, or D.C. Completion of residency in an accredited core specialty. Board‑certified or board‑eligible in Urology; must be eligible for academic appointment. Minimum five years of relevant experience. Affiliation with Atrium Wake Forest. Compensation and Benefits
Base salary: $380,000 – $400,000 per year. Paid time off: 50–55 days per year (26 vacation, 13 sick leave, 11 Federal holidays, 5 CME days). Free malpractice liability protection with tail coverage. Dental, medical, life insurance, pension, 401(k) with 5% match, survivor benefits, etc. Continuing education stipend: up to $1,000+ annually. Sign‑on bonus authorized (no employment contracts, non‑compete clauses, or restrictive covenants). Seniority Level
