The Salisbury VA Health Care System is actively seeking a
Full-Time Board-Certified Sports/Upper Extremity fellowship trained
Orthopedic Surgeon with Total Shoulder experience. This is an excellent opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of those who have served our country. This position is based at the Charlotte Health Care Center and operates under the overall management of the Section Chief of Orthopedics.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive surgical and clinical services.
Ensure compliance with established policies within the Department of Surgery/Orthopedic section.
Requirements
Full, unrestricted medical license in any State.
Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
Completed residency training approved by the Secretary of Veteran Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program, leading to board certification eligibility.
Board Certified/Eligible.
U.S. Citizenship:
Non-citizens may be appointed only when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
Preferred Experience
Board Certified and Fellowship-trained for Total Joint Replacement and Revisions.
Experience in developing outpatient and revision total joint programs.
Academic Affiliation
Atrium Wake Forest Baptist and Atrium Affiliations.
Compensation & Benefits Package
Pay:
$393,000-$400,000
Paid Time Off:
50-55 days per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays, and possible 5-day paid absence for CME).
Retirement:
Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA.
Insurance:
Federal health, vision, dental, term life, and long-term care insurance (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement).
Licensure:
1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory.
CME:
Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification).
Malpractice:
Free liability protection with tail coverage provided.
Recruitment Incentive (Sign-on Bonus):
May be authorized for a highly qualified candidate.
