Senior Software Engineer – Control Plane Lead – San Francisco, CA (remote) Confero is partnering with a well‑funded early‑stage startup building an AI Agent Swarm that reduces noise and highlights critical security threats for SOC teams.
The team is hiring a Senior Engineer to
own the architecture and delivery of the control plane
– the layer that defines how services communicate, how policies are enforced, and how the entire system scales.
This is a foundational role with an outsized impact and zero legacy constraints.
What You’ll Do
Architect and implement the control plane: API servers, orchestration logic, access control
Design and scale data architectures with a strong focus on Snowflake (other DB experience acceptable)
Build policy enforcement frameworks spanning authZ, data access, and tenant isolation
Write high‑quality backend code in Go and/or Java
Influence engineering standards, reliability practices, and long‑term technical direction
What We’re Looking For
7+ years in backend or infrastructure engineering
Strong database expertise across Snowflake, SQL, MySQL, or PostgreSQL
Solid experience with Go or Java in production environments
Background in data platforms (Snowflake preferred) and cloud infra (AWS, GCP)
Experience building secure, policy‑driven, or multi‑tenant systems
Startup or meaningful 0→1 product experience
Bonus
Knowledge of Kafka, Kubernetes, Docker, or big‑data systems (Spark, Hadoop)
Exposure to platform security, auth frameworks, or distributed control systems
