Accountant – Big Night Entertainment Group

Responsibilities
Auditing and reconciling daily sales and expenses for multiple venues.
Posting journal entries to the general ledger, including sales, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, inventory, prepaid expenses and accruals.
Providing weekly profit‑and‑loss analysis and reviews for venue management.
Performing monthly close processes for multiple venues, resolving issues with management, and compiling variance explanations versus prior year and budget.
Preparing monthly P&L statements for individual talent, artists, and events.
Tracking and monitoring expenses; determining contractually deductible amounts.
Co‑ordinating with talent coordinators and other venue accountants to complete talent disbursements according to contractual schedules.
Completing monthly sales‑tax filings and processing payments.
Reconciling bank accounts and facilitating venue reimbursement requests.
Assisting with reconciliation of credit‑card payments and charge‑backs.
Reviewing and analysing balance‑sheet accounts.
Facilitating weekly check runs for multiple venues.
Providing ad‑hoc reporting requests to the Controller and Chief Financial Officer.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum of three years’ experience in a general‑ledger accounting position or equivalent.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
Prior experience in talent management or the entertainment industry.
Prior accounting experience in the food‑and‑beverage sector (highly preferred).
Experience using WorkDay and inventory‑management software (preferred).
Excellent organizational, time‑management and communication skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑energy environment.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to read and interpret a balance sheet and income statement.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Physical Demands / Work Environment / Hours Our physical demands and work environment require employees to sit, type and use a computer for long periods. The role is office‑based, located in the new Hub on Causeway with scenic views of the Zakim Bridge, and is not remote.
Maintain office ergonomics while performing daily duties.
May be required to lift or move up to 30 lbs using proper technique.
Support a fast‑paced work atmosphere.
Non‑typical office hours may be requested.
