Vice President, Reimbursement Policy The American Clinical Laboratory Association (ACLA) is the national trade association representing leading laboratories that deliver essential diagnostic health information to patients and providers by advocating for policies that expand access to the highest quality clinical laboratory services, improve patient outcomes, and advance the next generation of personalized care.

The Vice President of Reimbursement Policy is responsible for the development and implementation of strategy for ACLA mission as it pertains to researching, analyzing, and commenting on reimbursement issues, including those before the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and its contractors, as well as other federal and state government agencies, commercial health plans, and third‑party entities such as laboratory benefit managers to advance patient access to innovative clinical laboratory services.

The Vice President of Reimbursement Policy will develop and maintain strong relationships with member reimbursement experts, manage the association’s reimbursement working groups and engage with the ACLA Board of Directors. The Vice President will prioritize developing and maintaining strategic relationships with policymakers and routinely engage with patient and provider organizations and other stakeholder partners to collaborate and advocate for ACLA’s priorities.

Experience and Professional Qualifications

10+ years of government relations experience, preferably at the senior level, in one or more of the following sectors: public health, healthcare institution or association management.

2 years of project team leadership experience.

Advanced working knowledge of Medicare payment and coverage policies; experience engaging with states and private payers.

Skills and Competencies

Excellent interpersonal and member service skills. Ability to collaborate with executives and member representatives across diverse functional groups.

Ability to analyze and understand health policy trends from the perspective of multiple stakeholders and translate related business implications.

Ability to work strategically to:

Analyze, interpret, and communicate reimbursement policies and proposals and their implications to ACLA members and external stakeholders.

Simplify and clearly present technical and complex subjects verbally and in writing.

Plan for interactive member working group sessions through engagement with working group chairs, agenda and meeting materials development, identification of next steps, and tactical execution.

Engage with external public and private sector stakeholders seeking consensus around ACLA policy priorities.

ACLA offers robust benefits to all employees, including comprehensive healthcare benefits. Annual salary for this position is

$225,000 – $275,000 , commensurate with experience.
