Role Overview
The Care Partner on the Pediatric Surgery, Trauma/Transplant, Overflow Medicine (PSTAM) and 12C Safer Units provides comprehensive, compassionate care to pediatric patients from infancy to young adulthood.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with the delivery of patient care and maintenance of unit environmental standards under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
Assist with day‑to‑day delivery of patient care.
Facilitate efficient and safe patient care and flow by following work area standards.
Serve as a liaison for the communication and education of patient and family needs.
Support unit operations and patient flow by maintaining supplies, equipment, and unit environmental standards.
Additional duties as assigned.
Technical Capabilities
Clinical Competencies (Novice) : Demonstrates competence with interventions such as point‑of‑care testing, vital signs, etc., in practical applications of moderate difficulty.
Care Partner Patient Documentation (Novice) : Independently works with clinical applications for patient documentation.
Environment of Care (Novice) : Demonstrates ability to set up and maintain patient rooms, supplies, and equipment, and can train peers.
Planning & Organizing (Novice) : Anticipates basic resource needs, schedules activities, meets deadlines, and prepares clear status reports.
Core Accountabilities
Performs routine tasks that may impact team performance with occasional guidance.
Solves routine problems using some discretion and research.
Applies standards, processes, and procedures relevant to the role.
Provides guidance to entry‑level co‑workers.
Core Capabilities
Supports colleagues and develops self and others.
Builds and maintains relationships across areas.
Communicates effectively and compassionately.
Solves complex problems and provides meaningful support.
Ensures high quality and safety compliance.

Position Qualifications
Relevant Work Experience: Less than 1 year.
Education: High School Diploma or GED (Required).
