Requirements
• Graduation from an ARC-PA accredited Physician Assistant program
• Current PA license in Washington State with active NCCPA certification
• Minimum of 1 2 years of clinical experience (preferably in correctional, urgent care, or underserved settings)
• Current DEA registration and NPI number
• CPR/BLS certification (AHA-approved)
• Familiarity with NCCHC standards and applicable Washington health regulations
• Ability to work independently under physician supervision and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
• Must pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening
Responsibilities
• Provide comprehensive medical care including evaluations, treatment, and follow-up for incarcerated individuals
• Conduct intake health screenings, physical exams, and manage chronic care needs
• Prescribe medications in accordance with Washington State scope-of-practice guidelines and collaborating physician protocols
• Respond to urgent and emergency medical issues and implement appropriate interventions
• Maintain thorough and timely documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR)
• Collaborate with nursing staff, physicians, mental health professionals, and custody personnel
• Ensure compliance with NCCHC standards and local, state, and federal healthcare regulations
• Participate in case reviews, infection control practices, and quality improvement initiatives
