Senior Phlebotomist Job at Providence in Santa Monica

Join Providence Saint John’s Health Center as a Senior Phlebotomist. This full‑time, 8‑hour daytime position is located in Santa Monica, CA.

Job Summary

As Senior Phlebotomist, you will work under the Cancer Center leadership team and collaborate with caregivers and providers to deliver high‑quality patient care. Your responsibilities include phlebotomy, inventory management, room and equipment preparation, and patient escort/education.

Responsibilities

Your tasks will include:

• Providing phlebotomy services and coordinating specimen collection from patients.
• Assisting in inventory ordering, receiving, stocking supplies, and maintaining inventory control.
• Participating in patient exam/preparatory room activities, ensuring supplies and equipment are functional and clean.
• Coordinating repairs and communicating critical maintenance information to management.
• Assisting in patient care activities such as greeting, escorting, logging/charting in EMR, room turnover, and equipment disinfection.
• Responding to phone calls and the patient call system.
• Participating in budgetary objectives and supporting the hospital’s hygiene and safety standards.

Required Qualifications

• Education that meets certification, license, or registration requirements.
• California Certified Phlebotomy Technician I or II license.
• 1 year experience as a Medical Assistant (MA) Clinical Technician.
• 9 months of phlebotomy experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Medical Assistant Certification (CMA) upon hire.
