Senior Data Analyst
Location: Washington, DC (Onsite 4 days / Week, Hybrid Work Arrangement)
Duration: 12‑month contract, with possible extension
Compensation: W‑2 or 1099 (no C2C, visa transfers, or sponsorship)
Job Description
The DNA Group is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of data across various systems within the organization. The role involves conducting thorough data analysis to identify trends and discrepancies, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to address data needs, and enhancing data management practices. Responsibilities include development and maintenance of consulting relationships with multiple agencies, project planning, coordination of multiple projects, problem identification, and development of alternative solutions. The work requires rapid response to agency business problems in alignment with Federal or District regulations.
Responsibilities
Interface with high‑level stakeholders to manage data projects, gather and document requirements, and collect sample data to ensure data quality.
Work with District agency resources to analyze, compile, verify, and query data; develop complex SQL queries and create metadata and data dictionaries.
Design and document methods for implementing new database systems; create reports using SQL and BI tools.
Develop and administer data standards, policies, and procedures; establish new standards, methods, and techniques.
Create scripts to identify and correct data inconsistencies, leveraging SQL extensively.
Troubleshoot problems in the input, retrieval, or modification of database information and the operation of enterprise data systems.
Operate and maintain Business Intelligence systems and perform complex data analyses including validation and error correction.
Coordinate activities with the project manager throughout the SDLC, including design, development, and testing.
Keep abreast of current database management concepts, trends, and techniques.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field or equivalent experience.
Experience gathering and documenting requirements and working with stakeholders across all project phases.
Ability to analyze, verify, and query data for warehousing and reporting needs, including complex SQL queries.
Experience designing database system implementation methods and building reports using SQL and business intelligence tools.
Ability to develop and administer data standards, policies, procedures, and methods.
Experience troubleshooting data input, retrieval, modification, and enterprise data system operations.
Ability to perform complex data analyses, validate data, identify inconsistencies, and evaluate the impacts of technological changes.
Experience coordinating work across the SDLC with project managers and technical teams.
Ability to stay current with trends, concepts, and developments in database management.

Extensive knowledge of IT standards, principles, concepts, methods, policies, system testing principles and methods: 16 years.
Knowledge of authorized system approaches for database management: 16 years.
Extensive knowledge of analytical methods and practice, requirement analysis principles and methods: 16 years.
Extensive knowledge in working with relational database technologies: 16 years.
Extensive knowledge in creating metadata/data dictionaries; designing and implementing reports: 10 years.
Extensive knowledge creating database views for live data feeds and dashboards: 10 years.
Extensive knowledge of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and managing small IT projects with minimal oversight: 15 years.
Extensive knowledge of data warehousing concepts and working with data architects to design schemas: 15 years.
Knowledge of BI systems operations and maintenance: 10 years.
Expert knowledge of oral and written communication techniques; evaluating and reporting accomplishments: 10 years.
Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences: 10 years.
