What does a Senior Logistics Engineer do at Swire Coca-Cola?
The Senior Logistics Engineer leads and supports large‑scale process improvement and capacity initiatives within the logistics organization. This role provides advanced analytical support for cost, productivity, and operational efficiency improvement projects across warehousing, transportation, and distribution networks. The Senior Engineer applies strong analytical, project management, and communication skills to identify, develop, and implement solutions that optimize throughput, labor efficiency, and service performance. Must be a self‑starter, detail oriented, able to manage multiple projects, possesses excellent communication and analytical skills, works well with a team, interacts with multiple levels and functions within the logistics organization.
Responsibilities:
Leads and conducts detailed time studies, labor analysis, network modeling, flow path analysis, supply chain analysis, and statistical analysis to drive data‑based decisions across logistics operations
Leads and supports cross‑functional strategic projects focused on process improvement, automation, and cost reduction, including partnership with Operations, Supply Chain, and Technology
Develops reports and runs ad hoc queries. Identifies and develops standard operating procedures to streamline operating processes
Develops and maintains advanced business tools, reports, and dashboards in partnership with Technology using data visualization and analytics platforms to track performance metrics. Reviews and recommends system/software enhancements as needed
Provides facility layout, capacity, and slotting analysis; supports capital investment decisions and ROI modeling for new technologies or infrastructure
Recommends and implements process standards and engineering best practices across logistics facilities
Track and report on metrics and key performance indicators for assigned business units
Leverages best practices and engineering standards when designing, developing, and deploying solutions
Mentors Associate Logistics Engineers and other team members on technical analyses and project execution
Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Master's Degree Mathematics/Statistics, Logistics, Mechatronics, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering preferred
Bachelor's Degree Mathematics/Statistics, Logistics, Mechatronics, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering required
Level 1 AutoCAD Certifications from an approved institution preferred
FAA Part 107 preferred
4+ years Demonstrated technical Logistics or Manufacturing environment experience with master's degree required or
8+ years Demonstrated technical Logistics or Manufacturing environment experience with bachelor's degree required
Basic principles of supply chain management, inventory control, and logistics operations
Fundamentals of warehouse operations, material handling systems, and storage methods
Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies (introductory level)
Data analysis concepts and basic statistics for process improvement and software tools (e.g. Minitab, JMP)
ERP/WMS/TMS software familiarity (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Manhattan, Blue Yonder)
Productivity tools - MS Office (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Teams
Basic data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau)
CAD or layout software (AutoCAD, Visio) for workflow and facility layout diagrams
Exposure to simulation software or modeling tools for logistics (e.g. Arena, FlexSim, AnyLogic)
Ability to collect, clean, and analyze operational data
Analyze processes and identify inefficiencies in material flow, storage, and transportation
