Join to apply for the Cybersecurity Engineer role at Dark Wolf Solutions , a company that helps maintain the security of the BMC3 Application Factory in support of the Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture (PWSA). The position focuses on automating the deployment of security solutions, monitoring remote environments, and reporting findings to security management. This role can be performed remotely from any of our Dark Wolf main locations.
Responsibilities
Design, test, and implement secure operating systems, networks, security monitoring, tuning, and management of IT security systems and applications, incident response, digital forensics, loss prevention, and eDiscovery actions.
Conduct risk and vulnerability assessments at the network, system, and application level.
Conduct threat modeling exercises.
Develop and implement security controls, formulate operational risk mitigations, and assist in security awareness programs.
Work on a wide range of security issues including architectures, firewalls, electronic data traffic, and network access.
Research, evaluate, and recommend new security tools, techniques, and technologies, and introduce them to the enterprise in alignment with the IT security strategy.
Utilize COTS/GOTS and custom tools and processes/procedures to scan, identify, contain, mitigate, and remediate vulnerabilities and intrusions.
Assist in the implementation of required government policy (e.g., NISPOM, DCID 6/3) and make process tailoring recommendations.
Perform analyses to validate established security requirements and recommend additional safeguards.
Support the formal Security Test and Evaluation (ST&E) required by each government accrediting authority through pre‑test preparations, participation in tests, analysis of results, and report preparation.
Periodically review each system’s audits and monitor corrective actions until all actions are closed.
Support cyber metrics development, maintenance, and reporting.
Provide briefings to senior staff.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience with deployment and maintenance of cybersecurity solutions within a DoD environment.
3+ years of experience utilizing the Risk Management Framework to obtain Authority to Operate.
1+ year of experience with IaC and CaC development using Terraform and Ansible.
Hands‑on experience with eGRC tools such as eMASS, XACTA, RSA Archer, etc.
Experience with Space Force risk management policies and procedures, including Fast Track ATO Handbook and AF Continuous ATO Playbook.
Ability to clearly articulate ideas for executive‑level consumption.
Ability to use prior experience and knowledge to address new situations, especially during client interactions.
Must have IAT II Certification (Security+).
B.A. or B.S. in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
U.S. citizenship and an active Secret Security Clearance.
Desired Qualifications
Previous experience supporting the Department of Defense.
Experience evaluating information security compliance against STIGs.
Remote/hybrid role based out of multiple hubs, including Herndon, VA and Huntsville, AL. Salary range: $135,000–$155,000, commensurate with experience and technical skill set.
