The Enterprise Applications team is seeking a Sr SAP Manufacturing Developer. As the SAP Manufacturing Integration & Intelligence (SAP MII) developer, you will manage the design, development and implementation of SAP MII projects connected to Enterprise Systems that enable rapid development and production of Space Hardware. The implementation of these systems is critical to scalability and cost‑effective business operations. We are looking for candidates who thrive in a fast‑paced, start‑up‑like environment and who show the highest standards of execution.

You will conduct defect analysis and perform necessary fixes and improvements, collaborate with functional owners, architects and other personnel to develop dynamic and flexible systems, review program code, correct MII program errors, maintain and update existing code, develop technical specifications and estimations for assigned projects, and solve production problems in a timely manner while working in compliance with programming and documentation standards.

Key job responsibilities

  • Build SAP ME and SAP MII based solutions and handle all deployment activities, build reports and deploy, and integrate with ERP and shop floor systems.
  • Actively participate in Integration Test, User Acceptance Test and MES startup to ensure success and meet customer requirements.
  • Ensure that deployed applications perform as per customer expectations and that there are no performance issues.
  • Build Proof of Concepts (POCs) using SAP ME and SAP MII as a service based on business requirements.
  • Lead solution design and develop SAP MII applications to populate real and historical data extracting information from data sources such as Kepware, SAP S/4 HANA and shop floor systems for reporting and analysis.
  • Support improvement for areas including PP‑PI, QM, MM, PM, PCo, and Scheduling.
  • Develop web applications using SAP MII, PCo, Kepware, and SAP S/4 HANA.
  • Develop printing labels, traveler documents, purchase order receipt labels, process order receipts, and shop floor forms in the MII system.
  • Improve application and server performance through performance tuning/sizing, redesigning, and fine‑tuning SQL queries.
  • Support various testing procedures (unit testing, integration testing, classroom testing, shop floor testing).

In each day you will conduct defect analysis, perform necessary fixes, collaborate with stakeholders, review program code, maintain and update code, develop specifications, and solve production problems while complying with standards and documentation guidelines.

About the team

Amazon Leo is focused on building Enterprise System Applications for manufacturing satellites. Your customers are Manufacturing, Operations and the Supply Chain teams at Kuiper.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience leading the design, automation, deployment, and support of large‑scale infrastructure.
  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, or Rust.
  • Experience with Linux/Unix.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and build processes.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with 3+ years of hands‑on development experience in SAP Manufacturing/MES modules (PP, PP‑PI, ME, MII) and ABAP programming.
  • Proven experience in developing and maintaining SAP manufacturing solutions, including custom interfaces, RFC connections, and integration with shop floor systems using standard SAP tools and methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions, with experience in the full software development lifecycle in an SAP environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with distributed systems at scale.
  • SAP certification in Manufacturing modules (particularly ME/MII) and experience with SAP S/4HANA Manufacturing, including implementation and migration projects in complex manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with modern SAP development tools (SAP BTP, SAP Fiori, UI5) and integration technologies (OData, REST APIs, IDocs), plus knowledge of manufacturing automation protocols such as OPC UA and MQTT.
  • Prior experience in regulated manufacturing industries (e.g., Pharmaceuticals, Medical Devices) with an understanding of GMP/FDA validation requirements and expertise in developing compliant solutions within SAP environments.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $235,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
