Front Desk Receptionist

Join us at ChenMed as a Front Desk Receptionist, the first point of contact for patients and a key advocate in delivering superior customer service.

Essential Job Duties / Responsibilities

  • Interact appropriately with patients, greeting, checking in, checking out, and scheduling appointments.
  • Utilize computer systems to add new patient information, print relevant forms, and schedule appointments while ensuring accurate recording of patient and emergency contact information.
  • Answer telephones, take detailed messages, and direct them to the appropriate individual.
  • Clearly communicate information about ChenMed clinical personnel to patients and other individuals.
  • Verify patient insurance via phone or website and collect copays; assist with scheduling follow‑up and referral appointments when necessary.
  • Escort patients to exam rooms and ensure their comfort and well‑being prior to leaving.
  • Act as an HEDIS champion for the PCP by providing visibility of HEDIS needs for scheduled patients.
  • Present customers with service surveys during check‑out and address any escalations for immediate service recovery.
  • Participate in daily and weekly huddles to provide patient details.

Other Responsibilities

  • Maintain confidentiality of patients’ personal information and medical records.
  • Review patients’ personal and appointment information for completeness and accuracy.
  • Transmit correspondence by mail, email, or fax.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and modified at manager’s discretion.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Exceptional customer service skills and passion for serving others.
  • Working knowledge of medical insurance and/or electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
  • Knowledge of ChenMed medical products, services, standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Skilled in operating phones, personal computers, software, and other basic IT systems.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and courteously with employees, patients, and other individuals.
  • Detail‑oriented to ensure accuracy of reports and data.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong listening skills.
  • Positive and professional attitude.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability and willingness to travel locally and regionally up to 10% of the time.
  • Spoken and written fluency in English.

Pay Range

$14.30 – $20.42 per hour
