Cost Accountant Location: Ocala, FL (Hybrid) Compensation: $70,000 - $85,000 About the Opportunity A growing and established manufacturer in the emergency vehicle sector is seeking a Cost Accountant II to join its corporate accounting team. This position is ideal for someone experienced in manufacturing accounting who wants to make an impact in a high-volume, fast-paced setting. The role reports to the Controller and is both hands-on and highly visible, supporting costing, inventory, budgeting, forecasting, and various operational projects. Key Responsibilities In this role, you will: • Assist with developing standard material, freight, labor, and overhead costs • Prepare monthly variance analysis and review results with department stakeholders • Maintain and audit pricing, cost standards, and BOM accuracy within the system • Perform monthly freight reconciliations and ensure proper accruals • Support compliance with applicable government tax requirements • Prepare journal entries for month-end close and confirm COGS accuracy • Generate monthly financial reporting and maintain permanent documentation • Work with Sales to support pricing updates and customer discussions • Assist with inventory-related activities (physical counts, cost rolls, year-end work) • Support annual budgeting and monthly/quarterly forecasting • Assist with AP (3-way match), intercompany reconciliations, and AR follow-up as needed • Prepare timely and accurate account reconciliations aligned with internal controls and SOX requirements Qualifications Required: • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related discipline • 3+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting • Solid understanding of cost accounting, inventory, and product costing • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data review) • Ability to work in a fast-paced and evolving environment • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, with solid organizational skills Preferred: • CPA credential • Experience with SAP, MAPICS/Infor XA, OneStream, or similar ERP systems What You Can Expect • Opportunity to work for a respected manufacturer with strong market demand • Exposure to operations, supply chain, and finance leadership • Stable company environment with continued investment and improvements
