Job Summary The CNA provides direct resident care, assists with activities of daily living, and supports a safe, clean environment under the supervision of a licensed nurse. Care is delivered in alignment with facility and nursing department standards.

Responsibilities Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs): bathing, dressing, oral care, pericare, foley care, shaving, toileting, feeding, and mobility support. Respond to call lights; serve and collect meal trays; measure and record food/fluid intake and output. Perform routine treatments such as warm/cold applications; assist RN/LPN with complex procedures. Collect specimens (urine, stool, sputum). Take and record vital signs, height, and weight. Provide general nursing care including positioning, lifting, turning, ambulating, and using special equipment. Prepare resident rooms for admissions; maintain clean and safe resident rooms and work areas. Observe and report changes in resident condition or behavior to RN/LPN promptly. Follow facility policies, including fire safety, infection control, hazardous materials, environmental safety, and quality assurance. Attend required trainings, meetings, and in-services; participate in committees as requested. Maintain resident privacy, dignity, and confidentiality at all times. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare team members.

Education / Experience / Licensure Must be certified through the South Dakota Board of Nursing.
