Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant: Preparing journal entries. Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable. Assist with fund accounting, transfers, and government expenditures, ensuring compliance with regulations. Manage biweekly payroll for 140+ employees Reconcile bank statements and company accounts. Assist with month-end and year-end close. Qualifications of the Senior Accountant: 2-5+ years of government or municipal accounting experience preferred. Proficiency in fund accounting, including tracking restricted funds, transfers, and grant expenditures. Familiarity with pension plans, payroll administration, and employee benefits within a municipal context. Excel proficiency - Pivot tables & VLOOKUPs. Self motivated and strong attention to detail.
