$80,000-$85,000 + Annual Bonus Position Summary We're looking for a skilled Project Accountant to support the financial oversight of multiple construction projects. This role is responsible for monitoring project costs, managing contract billing, processing accounts payable, and ensuring accurate financial reporting throughout each project's lifecycle. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and experienced in construction accounting environments. Key Responsibilities of Project Accountant Maintain project financial records, including budgets, commitments, costs, and forecasts
Prepare detailed job cost reports and analyze variances for Project Managers
Review subcontractor and vendor invoices for accuracy, compliance, and proper coding
Manage AP processing for assigned projects, ensuring timely approvals and payments
Prepare contract billings, requisitions, and supporting documentation as needed
Submit required project financial documents through municipal or client portals and track payment progress
Assist with bank reconciliations, union reporting, and monthly financial close tasks
Match invoices with purchase orders, packing slips, and project documentation
Enter and maintain all project accounting data in Sage 300 (Timberline)
Prepare and update project-related Excel reports; support special financial projects
Communicate with vendors and internal project teams regarding payment status and documentation needs
Qualifications of Project Accountant 3-5 years of construction or project accounting experience required
Strong proficiency with Sage 300 (Timberline) preferred
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to analyze financial data and support project leaders with insights
Strong communication skills and comfort working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and standard office software
