Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and creative Activities Director to lead and coordinate engaging programs for our senior residents. This role is responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing daily, weekly, and monthly activities that support residents’ physical, social, emotional, and cognitive well‑being. The ideal candidate is energetic, organized, and passionate about enhancing the quality of life for seniors.
Primary Responsibilities
Plan, schedule, and lead a balanced calendar of individual and group activities
Coordinate recreational, social, educational, and wellness programs
Encourage resident participation and build strong resident relationships
Track attendance and participation for state and internal reporting
Coordinate community outings and special events
Collaborate with care staff, nursing, and leadership to meet resident needs
Manage activities supplies and department budget responsibly
Ensure compliance with state regulations and community policies
Supervise and schedule activity assistants and volunteers as applicable
Maintain accurate documentation and activity calendars
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required
Experience working with seniors in assisted living, memory care, or similar setting preferred
Strong communication, organization, and time‑management skills
Ability to lead group activities confidently and independently
Reliable attendance and professional demeanor
Must be able to pass a criminal background check
Valid driver’s license required for community outings
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move for extended periods
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
