Software Engineering Manager - AI Platform

Responsibilities
Lead and manage one or more engineering teams, coaching and mentoring individual contributors.
Develop career paths, address team problems, and provide guidance for potential company leaders.
Collaborate closely with product, design, and engineering leaders to deliver high‑quality, repeatable technology.
Oversee hiring, firing, performance reviews, and pay decisions.
Make resource‑allocation decisions based on business objectives and establish operational objectives.
Execute and modify company policies that affect day‑to‑day operations and potentially have a broader impact.
Support the digital business strategy by implementing new standards, products, processes, and mid‑term business plans.
Demonstrate commitment, hard work, and focus on quality and customer service, embodying the partner‑owned culture of H‑E‑B.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience; completion of H‑E‑B Leadership programs (e.g., SORL) is a plus.
5+ years of experience in software engineering, including management of people, processes, or projects.
Experience leading operational support for solutions developed by the team.
Experience with Generative and Agentic AI technologies (e.g., MCP, LangGraph, LangChain, A2A) is a plus.
Strong knowledge of system architecture, design patterns, and multiple technologies used at H‑E‑B.
Expert understanding of development methodologies and processes.
Excellent communication, coaching, and leadership skills.
