Location/Schedule This role is based at our Salt Lake City Headquarters with a 4‑day hybrid in‑office schedule.
Position Summary & Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities This position designs, maintains, and optimizes security infrastructure while leading automation, threat monitoring, tool ownership, and Red Team testing efforts.
Own, manage, and optimize assigned security tools (e.g., Carbon Black, Palo Alto, Proofpoint, Bitwarden, Cortex XDR, Tenable).
Perform penetration testing and support Red Team program activities; coordinate third‑party testing.
Develop automation scripts in Python/PowerShell to streamline security tasks and incident response.
Monitor threat intelligence feeds, analyze risks, and support incident escalation/response.
Collaborate cross‑functionally on security projects, technology deployments, and audit evidence collection.
Draft and maintain documentation, procedures, and audit‑ready artifacts.
Mentor teammates, model strong leadership behaviors, and support Security Awareness initiatives.
You’ll be a great fit for this adventure if you have:
4+ years of security experience (Security Analyst, Incident Response, Security Engineering, etc.) with hands‑on work across vulnerability management, endpoint protection, application security, and operational security.
Strong scripting and application development skills in Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar, with experience automating security workflows.
Experience in application security, penetration testing, or Red Team activities.
Operational experience managing and administering security tools such as EDR, firewalls, email security, PAM, or SIEM.
Strong documentation, analytical, and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to support audits and root‑cause investigations.
Must be a U.S. citizen and currently living in Utah (commutable to Salt Lake City).

Compensation & Benefits Pay Range:
$105,500 - $125,000 + DOE and Bonus Opportunities
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Maverik considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers, such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
