Job Description U.S. Pipe and Foundry are seeking a Safety Manager. The successful candidate will assist plant leadership in driving and creating a safe working environment for the facility.

Essential Responsibilities

Develop and implement a system to monitor, evaluate, and revise site safety programs annually, focusing on High‑Risk Programs (LOTO, Hot Work, Confined Space, Fall Protection) to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.

Facilitate plant housekeeping audits.

Perform ergonomic assessments of plants and develop plans to reduce identified issues.

Conduct incident investigations, follow‑up on near‑miss events, property damage, and injuries.

Schedule, track, and ensure timely implementation of all plant‑wide regulatory safety training.

Develop a Safety Training Matrix.

Establish effective safety orientation systems for new, transferred employees, and contractors.

Lead development and implementation of training.

Coordinate safety/Industrial Hygiene monitoring as required.

Assess PPE requirements for all jobs and communicate them effectively.

Monitor ongoing compliance.

Oversee the Worker’s Compensation program at plant level, including reporting, reserve management, monitoring, restricted‑duty management, and collaboration with the Occupational Nurse Manager on medical claim management.

Maintain an effective communication process for all safety‑related functions, including clear emergency response procedures.

Lead and coordinate various safety meetings.

Skills & Other Requirements

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Safety or Environmental Engineering (not required). Certification as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) is preferred.

5–7 years of safety and environmental experience outlining and implementing programs in a heavy manufacturing industry.

At least 2–4 years of supervisory or managerial experience as a safety professional.

Proven leadership and self‑direction.

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Familiar with material handling equipment, crane operation, and capabilities.

Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and PPE.

Experience developing and implementing safety programs and policies.

Knowledge of hazardous materials and MSDS information.

Experience inspecting facilities and recommending corrective actions to ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations.

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Languages: Bilingual (English/Spanish) is highly preferred.

Salary and Benefits Competitive salary range: $84,800 – $155,500. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, short‑term and long‑term disability, flexible spending account, health savings account, life insurance, 401(k) plan, paid vacation, and holidays.
