Overview Work hard, have fun and make history with Amazon Public Policy. The Senior Manager, Public Policy will lead Amazon's public policy efforts before Congressional Republicans. Like our business interests, our policy issues are broad, forward-thinking, and driven by what is best for our customers.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute government affairs advocacy objectives and political priorities at the federal level.

Set the public policy and advocacy agenda for Amazon's businesses, collaborating with public policy, legal, and business units to ensure alignment.

Assess and communicate potential government activities to the business, develop mitigation or enhancement strategies and positions, and coordinate external advocacy efforts, outreach programs, and key initiatives.

Educate Members of Congress and their staff on related policy issues.

Facilitate high-level meetings between executives and key stakeholders, including legislature, regulatory, and industry association partners, to promote and advocate Amazon's objectives.

Determine, maintain, and staff appropriate corporate membership opportunities in industry associations and political organizations.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant discipline (e.g., Law, Political Science, Public Policy, Public Affairs, Economic Development).

Minimum of 10 years of relevant public policy experience, with a keen understanding of engaging with federal policymakers and broad government relations strategy experience.

Ability and desire to travel.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in regulatory frameworks and policy analysis methodologies.

Ability to be both a substantive issue expert on matters related to Amazon's business and a manager of complex political relationships.

Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience creating and delivering factual, relevant, and easily understandable talking points and messaging.

Law degree or master's degree.

Compensation & Benefits Base pay $148,300 - $245,200 per year depending on geographic market. Additional compensation may include equity, sign-on payments, and a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits. This position will remain posted until filled.
