Obayashi Corporation
is seeking a qualified candidate with experience in heavy civil and underground construction, including site work, utilities, excavation, TBM tunnels, SEM tunnels, drill & blast tunnels, mining, shafts, or underground structures work. This position is based in Menlo Park, CA, and will report to the Project Manager. Pay and Compensation
Base pay range: $80,000.00/yr - $85,000.00/yr. Additional compensation includes Annual Bonus. Anticipated Salary Range:
$80,000 - $85,000 USD / yr Role & Responsibilities
Assist in the review of project plans and the development of project submittals and work plans. Monitor and oversee field operations, including utilities, shaft, and tunnel excavation. Perform field layout and measurement. Track project quantities and monitor quality control. Provide a daily report and update/inform the team of ongoing progress and issues. Offer managerial guidance to improve cost performance and solve critical issues at the construction site. Ensure that construction work is performed in accordance with our quality, technology, and safety standards. Observe daily operations, find improvement opportunities, and provide alternative solutions. Education & Work Experience
Minimum bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction, or a related field. 0-5 years combined experience in project management or estimating in tunneling or civil engineering. Skills
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, AutoCAD, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively in a fast‑paced construction environment. Knowledge of heavy civil construction principles and plan reading. Attention to detail and the ability to recognize discrepancies. Other Requirements
Work on-site full-time for 6 days per week. Ability to work night shift (6:00 PM – 6:00 AM). Must possess a valid driver’s license and pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check to operate a company vehicle. Ability to walk and work on outdoor construction sites. Ability to carry and/or lift up to 40 lbs. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. This position is not eligible for sponsorship. Benefits
