The Principal Electrical Engineer, R&D will support electronic hardware development. Work with internal and external resources to execute design and development, schematic capture, PCB layout, testing, and release of electronic hardware used in medical device systems. Strong emphasis on Electrical Engineering with broad multidisciplinary R&D experience in analog, digital, and mixed electronic circuits, optoelectronics, sensors, and front‑end signal conditioning circuits for medical device and biomedical applications. Apply electrical engineering and product development experience to develop novel methods and concepts for patient monitoring products. Perform basic R&D work and feasibility of new concepts, analyze data, draw conclusions, and prepare final reports and presentations. Develop electronic hardware requirements and system designs; interface and manage external electronic development partners; perform agency testing to support IEC/EN60601‑1 and IEC/EN60601‑1‑2; troubleshoot field issues; and provide input and support for medical device design‑control deliverables. Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a scientific field; 6‑10 years of experience, including industry or industry/education. Experience with front‑end analog signal conditioning circuits. Experience with analog sensors such as temperature, pressure, flow, etc. Experience in writing requirements, design documentation, test protocols, test reports, scientific reports, and papers. Proficiency with EE design tools; experience with PCB development tools such as Altium preferred. Experience with microcontrollers, FPGAs, and CPLDs. Preferred Qualifications
A degree in Electrical Engineering is strongly preferred. Experience developing electronic hardware for medical devices in an FDA‑regulated environment. Strong theoretical and applied experience in analog electronic circuits design. Strong experience in medical device product development. Experience with analog, digital, and mixed circuit simulation and modeling (e.g., PSPICE). Experience with embedded systems. Experience designing for and testing to regulatory standards such as IEC/EN60601‑1 and IEC/EN60601‑1‑2. Excellent documentation of work results. Location
