Senior Business to Business Channel Strategy Consultant
As a Senior Business to Business Channel Strategy Consultant on the Southwest Business Channel Strategy Team, you’ll shape how Southwest connects with corporate travelers through third‑party distribution channels. You’ll lead strategic initiatives, develop operating plans, and manage relationships with key technology and travel partners, including GDS, TMCs, and corporate booking tools. By assessing the competitive landscape and anticipating emerging trends, you’ll ensure Southwest remains agile and prepared for the future of corporate distribution. Due to the nature of this role, you would be required to work from our Dallas, TX headquarters facility during business hours.

Responsibilities
Lead and develop channel operating plans, playbooks, budgets, and roadmaps for enhancements, partnership reviews, and defect prioritization.
Assist senior leaders across Southwest Business and the Commercial Department in identifying and resolving technical issues, distribution landscape changes, and partnership opportunities.
Strategically serve and partner with third‑party distribution/technology (GDS/TMC/CBT) accounts in all aspects of the business relationship.
Consult and work effectively with multiple departments—Technology, Revenue Management, Network Planning, Marketing, Legal, CS&S, and Ground Ops.
Work independently to manage projects and partnerships, ensuring Southwest goals are met.
Proactively identify and assess needs, display ownership and delegation for project timelines, deliverables, etc., and report updates/issues up to senior leadership.
Manage the communication of impacts to senior leadership and the broader enterprise.
Prepare and deliver presentations to senior and executive leadership.
Serve as the Channel Strategy Team lead for cross‑functional company initiatives and external partner projects.
Set an example and show leadership/mentor qualities across the team.
May perform other job duties as directed by employee's leaders.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of the travel and tourism industry, with an emphasis on supplier distribution.
Skilled in innovative thinking and building relationships (both externally and internally).
Knowledge of partnership management, project management, or similar disciplines.
Skilled in breaking down complex information and determining action plans.
Skilled influencer/negotiator.
Skilled communicator at peer and leadership levels.
Ability to initiate and maintain internal/external contacts and partnerships.
Ability to be self‑motivated and work independently.
Ability to be organized and handle multiple projects at one time.
Ability to comprehend and build on core airline financials and success metrics.
Experience
Expert‑level experience, seasoned and specialized knowledge in:
Marketing and sales
Financial analysis
Account/partner management
Commercial strategy
Preferred: Professional experience working in the travel/airline industry.
Preferred: Understanding of the business travel industry.
Preferred: Experience working with third‑party distribution technology and booking tools (GDS/TMC/CBT).
Education
Required: High School Diploma or GED.
Other Qualifications
Must maintain a well‑groomed appearance per company appearance standards as described in established guidelines.
Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must be able to comply with company attendance standards as described in established guidelines.
Pay & Benefits Competitive market salary from $125,900 per year to $139,900 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
