Human Resources Specialist (Policy)
Summary
The Human Resources Specialist (Policy) supports the development, analysis, and implementation of federal HR policies in Washington, DC. This position is responsible for ensuring that HR policies align with federal regulations and organizational goals. The ideal candidate will have 7-10 years of experience in federal HR policy development and implementation. Responsibilities Develop, review, and update federal HR policies, SOPs, and guidance documents. Interpret HR laws, OPM regulations, and policy requirements to ensure compliance. Analyze regulatory changes and recommend updates to HR programs and procedures. Provide expert policy advice to HR staff, leadership, and internal stakeholders. Conduct compliance reviews and support HR accountability, audit, and reporting activities. Research HR trends, best practices, and emerging policy requirements. Prepare policy briefs, issue papers, and communication materials for leadership. Support implementation and training related to new or revised HR policies. Collaborate with HR offices, program managers, legal, and DHS partners on policy initiatives. Maintain policy documentation and support continuous improvement of HR processes.
Requirements
7-10 years of experience in Federal HR Policy. Strong knowledge of federal HR regulations, policies, and compliance standards. Ability to develop, interpret, and implement federal HR policies and procedures. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast?paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with federal government HR systems and policy frameworks. Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders and senior leadership to influence policy direction. Strong problem?solving and critical thinking skills.
