As the Grants Manager, you will oversee a portfolio of corporate and foundation prospects, researching and securing funding opportunities that align with organizational priorities. You will manage the grants pipeline using NXT, prepare compelling proposals and reports, and collaborate with program and development staff to highlight program impact and client success. Partnering with senior development leaders, you will also cultivate and steward funder relationships to support long‑term revenue goals. The ideal candidate brings strong writing and research skills, experience managing corporate and foundation giving, and a collaborative approach to advancing the organization’s mission.
Responsibilities
Research and pursue new grant opportunities that align with the organization’s mission and programs Create and manage an annual grants calendar, tracking proposal, report, and renewal deadlines Partner with program staff to collect data and materials required for proposals and reports Draft persuasive, tailored grant proposals and letters of inquiry for prospective funders Track proposal submissions and oversee post‑award grant management Ensure compliance with all grant requirements, including reporting, documentation, and outcomes tracking Maintain accurate grant records in the database/CRM, including deadlines, deliverables, and correspondence Collaborate with finance staff to monitor grant budgets, expenditures, and reconciliations Cultivate and strengthen relationships with funders through consistent communication and stewardship Organize site visits, funder meetings, and related engagement activities Prepare progress updates, impact stories, and other communications for funders Work closely with development, finance, and program teams to align funding with organizational priorities Provide support for fundraising campaigns, events, and donor communications Qualifications
3+ years of grant writing experience, preferably within human services or homelessness-focused nonprofits Demonstrated track record of securing funding from foundations and corporate partners Exceptional writing, editing, and analytical abilities Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and grant management/CRM systems Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Proven ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, and confidentiality Collaborative team player with the capacity to also work independently Self‑motivated, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast‑paced environment Deep commitment to advancing the organization’s mission Compensation
